The Dublin and Irish Collections encompass two specialisms – a local studies collection for Dublin with supporting print items about Ireland, and the Special collections containing the library of Sir John T. Gilbert, various donor or subject collections, and rare books.
Overall, our holdings encompass print items from the 15th century to the modern-day comprising books, newspapers, periodicals, maps, ephemera, drawings and photos. The collections seek to reflect all aspects of life in Dublin city and county and serve to document the history of Dublin now and into the future. You can find more information in our collections development policy.
