Dublin City Archives is responsible for the storage of historic Dublin City Council planning application files for the period 1952-1988 inclusive. There are gaps in this series, as some planning files were destroyed by fire. Many of the archived planning files are stored off-site so Dublin City Archive offers a service where customers can request a scanned copy of a planning file at a cost of €45.00 per file. Scans are delivered to customers as pdf documents.
To order a scan of a planning file you must complete and submit a planning file request form. If you encounter any issues with the online form send us an email and we will forward you a version of the form as a Word.
To request a planning file you must know both the address and the planning file number of the premises in question. If you need to find out what planning files are associated with a particular address please contact the Dublin City Council Planning Counter on 01-222-3114, where they will be able to assist you.
